Plan this tripAbout Gurez Valley
A remote valley on the Line of Control, cut off by snow half the year — log-house villages of the Dard-Shina people, the Kishanganga river and the pyramid of Habba Khatoon peak, reached over Razdan Pass.

Good to know
- Register at the army checkpost on the way in and carry ID; the valley sits right on the LoC.
- Prepaid SIMs from outside J&K do not work — BSNL postpaid works in Dawar.
- Razdan Pass usually opens in May and closes with the first snow in November.
